We helped our customer install an extruder line

We lifted the extruder line elements from the transport vehicle, and using our roller skids, forklift truck and 60-tonne Ormig 55/60iE electric hall crane we moved the line elements into our customer’s production hall. As part of the contract, we positioned and assembled the machine base, then placed the drive unit and cylinder, which weighed 24 tonnes, onto the base, using our Ormig Pick & Carry crane, which has a nominal capacity of 60 tonnes.

Next we inserted the screws (each weighing 7 tonnes and measuring 6 metres in length) into their barrels, using our mobile hall crane and forklift truck. This was a delicate task, because the internal alignment of the barrel and the screw had to be accurate to within a tenth of a millimetre, so we had to devise and apply a fully horizontal binding method for the lifting. For stacking the platforms and placing the machines on them we also relied on our 60 tonne Ormig Pick&Carry crane. The other units in the extruder line were positioned with roller skids and a forklift truck. We completed the project to the full satisfaction of the customer, in cooperation with their supervisor.
